Join us and plant Mangrove Trees!
In accordance with the UAE government's approach to preserving the environment and protecting the country's climate for the future, the UAE has launched a country wide initiative to plant 100 million mangrove trees by 2030 as announced at COP26.

The initiative is a voluntary community activity that includes various activities with the aim of enhancing the positive contribution to improving the climate environment of the United Arab Emirates.

Our mangrove planting experiences include the following activities
-
A short presentation on community awareness and the UAE’s commitment to combating climate change over the next 50 years and beyond.
-
Taking a kayak and exploring among the protected mangrove trees.
-
Planting mangroves and learning how to maintain environmental sustainability.
-
A guided experience with a ranger learning about the mangrove ecosystem and the importance of preserving the environment.

Benefits of the Mangrove Tree
Mangroves are the only evergreen forest in the Gulf and have a unique ability to survive in this habitat.
Because of their ability to sequester carbon, removing up to 5 times more carbon from the atmosphere compared to other types of tree, one of the major benefits of mangroves is their ability to reduce the harmful greenhouse gases which cause climate change. Mangrove trees are one of the planets primary carbon capture systems.

Mangrove forests are considered a breeding ground for many marine and aquatic fish, shrimp, snails and crabs, and they also represent a suitable environment for the reproduction of seasonal and migratory birds.
Not only are mangrove forests prime breeding sites, but they also help eliminate liquid pollutants in the water and protect the marine environment, by improving the quality of water which promotes the growth of different types of coral reefs.
